a little backround info. i am enlisted in the army reserves as a 68w (healthcar specialist) i graduated ait on september 10th 2010. i am currently reenlisting in active duty as an 18x (special forces candidate). now heres the question, since i am returning to basic (FT benning) )will i get issued new clothing and boots and such. and also any advice on being an 18 series would be welcome. out of my two recruiters one says i will get new stuff and the other says i will not. anyways wish me luck.
The question is, are you doing all of OSUT or just the 2nd half ?
If you must do all of OSUT, then you will get issue, just like everyone else.
If you are only doing the 2nd half of OSUT, then you may have to bring your own uniforms.
2. A quick phone call to fort benning should solve the problem.
3. Make sure you do PT on your own time while in OSUT and airborne school.
Do not expect regular PT to prepare you for sopoc or keep you in shape for sopoc.

my recutier gave me a list on what to bring to BCT
but he said they take it away from you untill AIT
so whats the point of bringing it?
Also do you wear your civillian clothes untill your issued your Military wardrobe at reception
Only take what's on the list, just take them even if they take it away later. Better to be extra prepared than arrive there at AIT and have to spend time and money to get more things that could've been on the list
