I was going to buy some so could anyone tell if there any good (the newer ones)? I was wondering which ones are good and which I should steer clear from. Also, what's a decent price for them? I can buy them at many stores around here in the desert as there are several mititary surplus stores, and two bases kinda near where I live.
When I was eating them, the FAV's were the ham and cheese casserole, peanut butter and crackers, beef stew, chicken and rice, BBQ Pork, ,mixed Vegetables, soup of any kind and what else, I can't remember.....but to BUY them? Oh my goodness, why? The Caloric Count is insane, the sodium is off the charts...............these meals are created to maintain a man in the field whos' daily intake of calories is over 2000 with a bowel movement of 1 times in 3 days, why would you want to buy these? No matter what the price, I honestly don't recommend this for daily, human consumption. Unless, you don't know when you'll eat next, have to travel on foot 30 miles a day (and that's light), have little to NO sleep, have no access to a human dumping site (and I mean that, literally) be exposed to the most horrid of human conditions available and this food was designed for all of these situations and them some. Common Price for these: Probably $1, but please, buy a can of soup that has an expiration date.........my food that I ate in Norway, USMC, 85-93 was dated from the the 70's, I kid you not. These were GREAT in field conditions, when you have no other choices and I'm absolutely sure these meals are developed better these days, but even in the dessert, they have better meal plans than this!
